Basier

We got Bay at nine weeks of age and when we brought him home, the first one he saw when we picked him up out of the car, was Angel. She came right up to him and they kissed. Angel is Bay's grandma and his mama looks a lot like Angel. Marquis is his graddad.
Basier is one of the most lovable, huggable and definetely kissable Briards ever. His name in French means heart felt kiss. When we go for rides he will kiss the back of your ear. Very gentle and it tickles a little.
He also loves children. He is very protective of them. When Bay was about five or six months old, he went with me while the car was in the shop. It was a colder day so we stayed in the waiting room. About a half an hour later, an older woman came in with a young child. I guess she was about four years old. This girl and Bay checked each other out. He laid down facing her. When ever he heard a noise, he would stand at attention. After about ten minutes, he got up, turned around in a circle in front of her, then laid down kind of holding her in one spot. He never attempted to hurt her in any way. I had a hold of his leash but really he was only protecting her. The little girl was not scared but when she made a move Bay got up and stood right in front of her and would not let her go any where. I had to get him to move so she could move. Part of the herding instincts. It was the cutest thing. He did kiss her of course. I eventually had to get up and move him around because they needed to leave. Bay didn't want the little girl to go.
Another time, we were in the area where we live and we stopped at the store. I stayed in the car with Bay. A few feet away, a man was playing with his daughter. She was running and screamming with a smile on her face. The dad was running and laughing with a smile on his face. Bay stuck his head out the window and started barking at the guy. It startled him, Bay has a very deep voice, immediately he and the little girl got right out of there.
He really gets excited when I say his name in French. His tail starts wagging and he puts this great big smile on his face. Bay is all about love. He loves his puppies. He is very easy to live with.
His daddy is the most titled Briard in the history of the AKC. He is an American champion and a Canadian champion. His mama is an American champion.
